Roger Biery has three decades of successful sales and marketing experience in the computer networking industry. He has served as a Sales Representative, a Sales & Marketing Manager, a Product Line Manager and a Vice President of Marketing before founding Sierra Communications.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with a BSEE degree in Computer Technology (1978), Roger went to work for Hewlett-Packard as a Sales Representative of distributed midrange computer systems. He left HP to become Director of Sales & Marketing for Dataflow Systems, one of HP's largest independent software vendors. While at Dataflow, Roger was recruited by Ungermann-Bass to be a Product Manager. At UB he was promoted to Product Line Manager accountable for nearly one third of UB's total revenue with system-level strategic planning responsibility for the entire Net/One family of products. From UB Roger went to Luxcom, a privately-held intelligent hub start-up, as Vice President of Marketing over both product management and marketing communications. Roger left Luxcom in 1995 to start Sierra Communications.
Throughout his career, Roger's employers and clients alike have praised his uncommon ability to describe complex concepts and technology in a comprehensible and compelling way.
